The option description:
The option defines, what method will support the drives connected to the standard IDE/SATA-controler of a chipset. At value [S-ATA] they will be presented system as SATA-devices without dependence from they in a reality use what interface. The choice [P-ATA] orders to report about drives, as about IDE-devices. Setting [P-ATA+S-ATA] presents drives according to their interface. Value [Disabled] if it is present, disconnects the standard IDE/SATA-controler of a chipset.
For a compatible mode it is recommended to install value [P-ATA], in an enhanced mode it is better to use value [S-ATA] or [P-ATA+S-ATA].
