CPU Fan Control

Option name:

CPU Fan Control

Possible values of an option:

[Enabled], [Disabled]
[Q-FAN Mode], [Duty Cycle Mode]

The option description:

Allows to involve an intellectual speed control of the fan of a processor cooler. The given technology reduces rotational speed of the fan of a cooler during the moments of idle time of the computer or at small loading when the processor thermal emission is insignificant. Naturally, it positively affects noise level from cooling system. It is recommended to use always the given possibility ([Enabled] or [Q-FAN Mode]).

In some implementations BIOS the given option not simply is responsible for switching-on ([Enabled]) or shut-down (a variant [Disabled]) an intellectual speed control of the fan of a processor cooler, and allows to switch between intellectual control ([Q-FAN Mode]) and a manual mode (a variant [Duty Cycle Mode]). Last gives the chance to specify manually speed of the fan of a cooler of the processor in percentage of the maximum.

In the spacious and well designed case, different competent allocation of air flows, the safe temperature of as much as possible loaded processor is provided and at the under turns of the fan of a processor cooler. It is one more argument in favor of an intellectual speed control — at its switching-on the noise level will be always far from cooling system of the theoretical maximum.
