CPU FAN PIN Select
Possible values of an option:
[4 PINS], [3 PINS]
The option description:
The modern processor coolers are equipped with rather productive fans noticeably rustling by operation on limiting turns. But the maximum volume of pumped over air is necessary only during the moments of the greatest loading when the processor thermal emission is reached by a pica, in the rest of the time the cooler fan can rotate with ready smaller speed. Traditionally for rotational speed lowering reduce pressure of a supply of the fan, but this method possesses a row of restrictions. At first, modest control range of speed. Secondly, possible problems with fan start at the pressure reduced concerning a nominal. However, long enough processor coolers used this mechanism. The modern decision assumes a direct control of rotational speed what needed additional fourth contact in a connector for connection of the fan of a processor cooler.
The given option just also allows to specify, what connector and, as consequence, a control variant are used by the given model of a cooler. If it is the new four-contact connector, allowing a direct control of rotational speed, you should select value [4 PINS]. For classical three-contact, assuming speed control through change of pressure of a supply of the fan, the variant [3 PINS] is intended.
The old three-contact connector can be interposed without problems into a four-contact answer part of new type on the motherboard.
