CPU Host Clock Control

Option name:

CPU Host Clock Control

Possible values of an option:

[Enabled], [Disabled]

The option description:

The given option defines behavior of the computer at setting of too high frequency of the front-side bus when normal loading is impossible. At a choice [Enabled] in 20 seconds the computer automatically reboots, and for the front-side bus standard value of frequency will be installed. Value [Disabled] disconnects the given possibility, and, to drop frequency of the front-side bus to standard value, it is necessary to use a jumper of cleaning of a non-volatile memory on the motherboard.

In most cases at excessive acceleration it is possible to come in BIOS Setup and manually to install the smaller values of frequencies providing confident loading of the computer. But sometimes the computer hangs up at stage POST, locking access to utility BIOS Setup. In this case the given option also is useful. Can be present and other mechanisms of protection against excessive acceleration. So, some motherboards of manufacture ASUS automatically expose minimum values of all frequencies at repeated reboot, dropping, at the same time, and all remaining options in value by default (action is similar to cleaning of contents of CMOS-memory). In case of motherboards of manufacture of Chaintech it will be necessary to hold at loading pushed a key [<Home>]. Other vendors also offer the variants, for example, keeping in key load time [<Ins>]. To explain this question, address to a manual on the motherboard.
