Possible values of an option:

From [200 MHz] to [1000 MHz] or [2000 MHz], [Auto]

The option description:

Allows to specify effective frequency of bus HyperTransport, connecting processor AMD and a chipset.

Nominal effective frequency of bus exchange HyperTransport makes 800 or 1000 MHz for processors Athlon (and Sempron on their basis) and 1600, 1800 or 2000 MHz for processors Phenom. Besides a choice of numerical value you can specify a variant [Auto], automatically installing demanded frequency with reference to available model of the processor.

At acceleration trace, that frequency of bus HyperTransport did not exceed 1000 MHz for family Athlon and 2000 MHz for processors Phenom.

As the storage controler is integrated immediately into these processors, frequency of bus HyperTransport influences total high-speed performance of system a little.
