Or

The option description:

In most cases given option allows to specify, what storage is used: with parity control (value [ECC]) or normal — without parity control ([Non-ECC], [Disabled]). However, meets the variant of this option allowing not only to disconnect control of parity (value [Non-ECC]), but also to specify, type of check of storage at usage of units with parity control is there can be a simple check ([EC-Only]), and parity control ([ECC]) can also.

When simple check is included, at origin of an error computer operation stops. Parity control allows to rectify single errors, but in case of a plural error operation also stops. At a choice of this or that mode it is necessary to consider that at switching-on of control of parity productivity falling makes about 3 %.
