The option description:

Allows to specify a factor (the relation of effective frequency to frequency of the reference clock speed generator) for bus HyperTransport, connecting processor AMD and a chipset.

LDT (Lightning Data Transport) — a draft (working) variant of a title of bus HyperTransport.

Nominal effective frequency of bus exchange HyperTransport makes 800 or 1000 MHz for processors Athlon (and Sempron on their basis) and 1600, 1800 or 2000 MHz for processors Phenom. Regular frequency of the reference clock speed generator — 200 MHz, therefore, to receive frequency of bus HyperTransport in 800 MHz, is necessary to install a factor 4x, 1000 MHz — 5x, 1600 MHz — 8x, 1800 MHz — 9x and 2000 MHz — 10x. At acceleration of the processor a factor normally reduce so that frequency of bus HyperTransport did not exceed 1000 MHz for family Athlon and 2000 MHz for processors Phenom.

As the storage controler is integrated immediately into these processors, frequency of bus HyperTransport influences total high-speed performance of system a little.
