Possible values of an option:

From [200 MHz] to [1000 MHz] or [2000 MHz], [Auto]

The option description:

Allows to specify effective frequency of tyre HyperTransport connecting processor AMD and a chipset.

Nominal effective frequency of data exchange on tyre HyperTransport makes 800 or 1000 MHz for processors Athlon (and Sempron on their basis) and 1600, 1800 or 2000 MHz for processors Phenom. Besides a choice of numerical value you can specify a variant [Auto], automatically establishing demanded frequency with reference to available model of the processor.

At dispersal track, that frequency of tyre HyperTransport did not exceed 1000 MHz for family Athlon and 2000 MHz for processors Phenom.

As the memory controller is integrated directly into these processors, frequency of tyre HyperTransport influences total speed of system a little.
