Watchdog Timer

Option name:

Watchdog Timer

Possible values of an option:

[Enabled], [Disabled]

The option description:

Value installation [Enabled] allows to return automatically standard values of frequencies of tyres if the previous loading has not crowned success (the computer could not undergo procedure POST because of installation of too "optimistical" values at dispersal). The choice [Disabled] disconnects the given possibility, and, to dump frequencies to standard values, it is necessary to use a crosspiece of clearing of non-volatile memory on a system payment.

In most cases at excessive dispersal it is possible to come in BIOS Setup and manually to establish the smaller values of frequencies providing confident loading of the computer. But sometimes the computer hangs at stage POST, blocking access to utility BIOS Setup. In this case the given option also is useful. Can be present and other mechanisms of protection against excessive dispersal. So, some motherboards of manufacture ASUS automatically expose the minimum values of all frequencies at repeated reboot, having dumped, at the same time, and all other options in value by default (action is similar to clearing of contents of CMOS-memory). In case of motherboards of manufacture Chaintech it will be necessary to hold at loading pressed a key [<Home>]. Other manufacturers also offer the variants, for example, keeping during key loading [<Ins>]. To clear this question, address to a management on the motherboard.
